Art PIR Sandler and Math Teacher LaChapel recently developed
a lesson that integrated the concept of the slope of a line with the creation
of colorful “stained glass” artworks.
The students began by graphing several lines, and determining their slopes.
To reinforce their knowledge, the students then added the art
component, turning their
efforts into “stained glass” artworks.
The lesson was graded using a rubric that included both math
and art requirements.
The final products became a bulletin board that all at
School 2 could admire.
