Clay and Math

The latest STEAM art project in Mr. Jones' art classes at GOPA combines both clay making and math.  Mr. Jones and WPU Practicum Student, Dominick Zungri have been working with the students creating clay pinch pots and other clay art works for the past several weeks.  At the same time, Dr. Banerjee from the Math Department has been calculating the surface area and volume of a selection of these pots with his math students and sharing these results with Mr. Jones' art students.  This has made for a true collaboration of different subject areas and the creativity and problem solving skills required by both.
